Private TPPs carry the largest balancing load in the Ukrainian energy system and exceed the Ukrenergo plan, which allows state-owned plants to complete planned repairs.
Maksym Bilyavskyi, the leading expert on energy programs of the Razumkov Center, reported this on the air of “Hromadsky Radio”, informs Censor. NO.
“We have to understand that TPPs currently bear the largest load. The base load is released by nuclear power plants, and frequency regulation is done at the expense of HPPs, GAPPs, TPPs and CHPs. Today, thermal generation is actually extracted by a private generating company. As far as I know, they are exceeding their plan , which was proven by the dispatcher of “Ukrenergo”. Thanks to private generation, the state-owned company now has the opportunity to carry out planned repair work,” the expert said.
Commenting on the preparations for the heating season in Ukraine and what Ukrainians should prepare for in winter, he emphasized that energy workers are no less zealous than Ukrainian defenders.
“Our industry and the people in it are fantastic. They are the heroes of the energy front. They did and are doing everything to ensure that, despite all the unprecedented situations and challenges, the heating season was successful. Therefore, I am not as pessimistic as some of my colleagues. And I urge Ukrainians to trust energy companies in the same way as we trust the Armed Forces,” Bilyavskyi said.
It will be recalled that Rinat Akhmetov’s DTEK company previously helped state-owned TPPs with the supply of coal. State generation received about 50,000 tons.
