In Zaporizhzhia, the Security Service of Ukraine blocked the activities of a powerful of the pro-Kremlin bot farmwhich called for donations to support the occupiers, informs SBU press center.

The message states that several thousand bots “dispersed” disinformation about the situation on the southern front, popularized the Russian occupation groups and called for donations to support them.

In addition, they discredited the command of the Defense Forces and incited Ukrainian citizens to avoid mobilization.

“The Telegram channel of the enemy propagandist Rogov, who represents the occupation administration of Melitopol, was used as the primary source for spreading destructive content,” the SBU reports.

The message says that at the beginning of its activity, the bot farm had 2,000 fake accounts that spread pro-Russian narratives allegedly on behalf of local residents. “In the future, the enemy “cell” was supposed to become a “strike force” in carrying out large-scale information sabotage of the aggressor in the front-line areas of the region,” the message reads.

According to the investigation, the illegal activity was organized by a local specialist in information and telecommunication technologies, and the computer equipment for subversive work was placed in one of the rented office premises in the city center.

The specialized equipment used by the attacker made it possible to register new anonymous accounts on social networks every day, including those banned in Ukraine.

During the search of the suspect’s office, law enforcement officers found computer equipment with evidence of illegal activity, 2.5 thousand SIM cards of Ukrainian mobile operators, SIM gateways and other specialized equipment and software.

The seized equipment was sent for examination.

Within the framework of criminal proceedings under part 2 of Art. 361 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (unauthorized interference with the operation of electronic computing machines (computers), automated systems, computer networks or telecommunication networks), an investigation is underway to establish all the circumstances of the offense and bring the culprits to justice.

The situation in the Zaporozhye direction

During the full-scale war against Ukraine, the Russian Federation was able to occupy about 60% of the territory of the Zaporizhia region. In particular, the largest cities of the region – Melitopol, Berdyansk, Tokmak – are under occupation. Energodar, a satellite city of Zaporizhzhya NPP, is also occupied.

On September 23-27, the occupiers held a fake referendum on joining the occupied territories to the Russian Federation, after which the annexation was attempted.

At the same time, in the occupied regions of the region the partisan movement is active.
