Three Hamilton residents were part of a group of four family members that won the Instant $2 Million Extreme grand prize.
Patricia Swayze, Natasha Chenier and Ross Albanese of Hamilton and Shawnna Chenier of Gander, Newfoundland will split the money.
The group said they had been playing the lottery together for about eight years.
“When I scratched the ticket and saw the $2 million, I couldn’t believe it,” said Patricia at the OLG Prize Center in Toronto. “I ran over to Natasha to show her, and she suggested I check the OLG app to be sure. I was in disbelief!”
Natasha plans to pay off her mortgage and travel, Ross and Patricia will travel to visit family, and Shawnna plans to buy a house.
“I’m grateful,” Shawnna said.
The winning ticket was purchased at the Mix & Food Mart on Cannon St. in Hamilton.
Instant $2 Million Extreme is available for $20, and the top prize is $2 million. Odds of winning a prize are 1 in 3.16.
