In the latest video uploaded to the Valorant Youtube, the developers gave a preview of what’s to come with the FPS this year, in addition to sharing their gratitude for the support the game has received over the years.
Valorant is one of the fastest growing FPS games to hit the market in recent years, and it’s not hard to see why. The developers have taken everything that many fans love Fortnite, Warzone, Apex, and Surveillance and threw it together in one game. While of course it has its pitfalls, it’s still a great game that fans can’t seem to get enough of.
The start of the video shows exactly how big the game has grown, with thousands of players screaming in the crowd and having fun at the events. Executive Producer Anna Donlon begins the video by describing how grateful the developers are for the support and patience fans have shown them, then goes on to describe the changes and updates coming to the game this year. One of the main goals will be to improve the toxic environment and cheating within the community. Game director Andy Ho goes on to imply that new mapsagents, game modes, and skins will be released later in 2023, and while they won’t say too much just yet, they do mention something interesting.
Valorant will have its own Team Deathmatch mode, but with a twist. The developers say it will be a new take on the “norm”, although at the time of writing we don’t know what it will look like. Andy Ho also mentioned two other upcoming game modes, Premier and Swift. There will also be a new way to unlock rewards, but again they didn’t go into detail as to what that feature will be.
It looks like the team will be keeping their lips tight on what’s to come for now, but it’s good to have an idea of what to expect later this year.
