We already knew that Pokemon scarlet and violet had the best UK physical launch this year, but what about the last main episode of Pokemon? Nintendo has since announced that Pokemon Scarlet and Violet is, in fact, the best-selling game in Nintendo history.
The game, which features Generation 9 of Pokemon, managed to sell 10 million units worldwide in physical and digital sales in its first three days on the market. The press release, which is by BusinessWirestates, “This is the highest worldwide level of sales for any software on any Nintendo platform in the first three days.”
It’s a huge achievement for Nintendo and for the Pokemon franchise as a whole. Since its conception in 1996, the mainline Pokemon video games have continued to outsell the others, and the franchise shows no signs of slowing down.
It’s quite the contrast to Sony which boasts of God of War: Ragnarok being its best-selling exclusive launchhaving sold 5.1 million copies in its first week.
Either way, there’s no denying that Pokemon is obviously going to top the likes of God of War. Pokemon is, after all, the biggest media franchise in the world. That said, are Pokémon Scarlet and Violet any good? Well, Alex spills the details in his review of the gamebut if you’ve spent any time on the internet this week, you probably have your own ideas.
There’s no denying that Pokemon Scarlet and Violet shipped in a terrible state, with poor performance and lots of bugs. That said, the the gameplay is better than everand it looks like players are having a lot of fun with the game, graphical glitches and all.
